meet Segundia
Segundina is the youngest lady we work with at 20 years old and she has one of the largest tasks to help keep the association organized. She speaks the traditional Inca language, Quechua, as well as Spanish, which makes her one of our translators. She was born in Qepaspampa-Ocongate and comes from a family of 6 brothers and sisters. She grew up making her own clothes from the age of 12 and was taught to spin yarn and knit by her sister, Magdalena, who is part of our Tribe as well. Segundina did attend school but did not finish, as she became a mother at the age of 15 years old. Segundina says her beautiful daughter, Yoselyn pushes her everyday to do better in life. She dreams of selling her products and be making the best! We truly appreciate Segundina’s motivation and drive to keep our Tribe together.
