meet Sonia
Sonia is another one of our younger knitters and the daughter of Alejandrina. She is 22 years old and was born in Mallma. Sonia helps us with translation as she speaks both the traditional Inca language, Quechua, and Spanish. She was taught to knit by her mother when she was 10 years old. Sonia has been more fortunate with her education. She attended elementary school in Ocongate and then moved to Cusco to complete high school. At the age of 19, Sonia moved back to Ocongate to give birth to her daughter. Aline is now a playful 3 year old and we love watching her grow. Sonia is very happy to work with Cultural Threads. We truly value Sonia's creative thinking, as she's always sharing new designs and helping us build our brand.
